Siesta Silver Jewelry was born in January of 2010 after Karla, the owner, returned from honeymooning with her husband, Mark, in Mexico. While in Mexico, unique jewelry items were purchased and a business idea was brewing.
Throughout the last seven years, our beautifully hand-crafted sterling silver jewelry from Mexico has debuted at Quilt Shows, Women's expos, festivals, fundraisers and local shops. A couple of our milestones are as follows: www.SiestaSilverJewelry.com was launched in October 2010; in November of 2011 we added semi-precious stone jewelry to our collection and on March 20, 2013, Siesta Silver Jewelry had the pleasure of being the only jewelry company at MORE Magazine's Girls Night Out in Chicago! Siesta Silver Jewelry has grown and matured. In August 2013 we launched our new and improved website that truly captures who we are: beautiful & unique while still being affordable. Also in August 2013 Siesta Silver Jewelry was discovered by the American Quilter's Society (AQS). AQS loved the quilt block jewelry designed by Karla and her mom, Nancy. The quilt block jewelry was featured as a "Fabulous Find" in the November issue of the American Quilter magazine. The quilt block jewelry has also been featured in McCall's quilting magazines, Better Homes and Gardens quilting magazine, Encore magazine of Kalamazoo MI and Generation Q quilting magazine. The quilt block jewelry is a great fit since Vicksburg, Michigan (headquarters of Siesta Silver Jewelry) has its own Quilt Trail. Our exciting addition to our collection in 2016 was jewelry made out of paint over spray from the automotive, appliance and boat industries. This material is commonly called Fordite, Motor Agate or Detroit Agate. Women's Lifestyle Magazine of Greater Kalamazoo was kind enough to feature this new endeavor. We now have an entire collection of Siesta Fordite at the Detroit Institute of Arts Museum Shop in Detroit, Michigan (the Motor City).
Siesta Silver Jewelry has donated money as well as merchandise to many organizations including: Vicksburg Community Schools, local churches, Autism Society of Kalamazoo/Battle Creek, Autism Speaks, Autism Care and Treatment (ACT) Today, and the Leukemia and Lymphomas Society just to name a few. Over the last seven years Siesta Silver Jewelry has helped to raise over $9000.00. Siesta Silver Jewelry has also sponsored Vicksburg Little League Teams, Vicksburg Middle School Lacrosse Teams and a KOHA Hockey team. The more Siesta Silver Jewelry grows, the more we can give back! We just wrapped up our Paws for Penny campaign that raised over $5700 for a childhood friend fighting an inoperable brain tumor!
